As a future teacher of elementary science I really believe that we have to actively teach our students what reciprocity looks like, and create meaningful ways for them to participate in reciprocity.
A few examples I have are:
– Planting a class garden
– Watering the ground if we take a plant for our own use
– Safely picking up garbage when we are outside (and inside for that matter)
– Setting clear expectations for how we treat the outdoor spaces we occupy
I wonder what else I could add to this ongoing list?
